USC makes the switch to Common Application

USC announces it will use the Common Application for 2012 admissions

48 other institutions are also switching to the Common Application this year (commonapp.org).

Next year, high school seniors can apply to USC with the press of a button.

The Office of Admissions announced USC will be joining the Common Application for 2012 admissions.

Dean of Admission Timothy Brunold says USC will have a supplement along with the Common Application.

Kirk Brennan, USC’s director of Admission, says changing the application is likely to increase efficiency and put students and guidance counselors at ease.

It will also allow high school guidance counselors and teachers to only have to submit letters of recommendation and transcripts online to Common Application once.

Applicants can access the new online application beginning August 1.

According to commonapp.org, as of July 1, Common Application will have 460 members.
