USC begins to set up for the L.A. Times Festival of Books

White tents are popping up around the USC campus as preparations begin for the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.
The festival will take place this weekend, April 30 to May 1. Hundreds of authors from an array of genres will be attending, as well as musical appearances from various artists.
The book festival is coming just days before finals and is expected to cause congestion in the area. USC Transportation sent out a memo to the campus community warning students of heavy traffic, “This event is expected to attract 180,000 visitors over the course of the two days…Increased traffic is expected from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 30 and from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.”
In past years the festival has taken place at UCLA, but due to differences over financial negotiations between the LA Times and UCLA it was moved to USC, according to the LA Times.
