Port of Los Angeles trailer heist

Thieves brought their own trucks to a Port of Los Angeles trailer depot last night and made off with some cargo

Thieves reportedly drove their own big rigs to a trailer depot near the Port of Los Angeles, loaded their trailers with containers and made off at gunpoint last night.

The suspects struck at the crossing of Farragut Avenue and Anaheim Street in Wilmington at around 11p.m. last night, said Sgt. Brian O’Conner.

The number of containers and what kind of cargo was in them is unknown, but police have confirmed that the suspects did bring their own trucks to load, said Sgt. O’Conner.

A videographer at the scene said that two armed men wearing masks beat a man and woman guard and fled the scene with two trailers loaded with cargo, police said.

Police are searching for the trailers and the heist is under investigation.
